From the Battery to the Circle: An Exploration of Lower Manhattan and Midtown (four hours)
The most popular part of New York City is area between Columbus Circle and Battery Park. Within those borders are some of the world most famous places: the Empire State Building, Chinatown, the World Trade Center Site, Grand Central Terminal, The United Nations, The Brooklyn Bridge, South Street Seaport, Washington Square Arch Little Italy, Rockefeller Center and Times Square. With your private guide will see, hear and explore the city. In some cases getting out and walking around, so you can experience Gotham.
North of 40° 45' 0.2628": Exploring Uptown and Harlem (four hours)
There is an entire city north of 59th Street. The Upper West Side, Central Park, Harlem, and the Upper East Side. There are many secrets of even many New Yorker’s do not know about. (George Washington really did sleep in a house in Harlem and the house is still there!!!). Of course you will see the icons like: the Apollo Theater, St John the Divine, Sugar Hill, Columbia University, Central Park, Lincoln Center, the countless Museums along Museum Mile. Your guide will have many stories about the sights and will include some stops, so you can get a better view.
Everything you Wanted to Know About Manhattan, but were Afraid to Ask (eight hours)
This program combines our two Manhattan programs, “From the Battery to the Circle” and “North of 40° 45' 0.2628"” into an eight hour program including one hour free for lunch on your own. Your guide will be by your side to show you the way.
Welcome to America: The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island (Five hours)
America’s symbol of freedom, the Statue of Liberty, is one of the most recognizable structures in the world. For the best views of Lady Liberty, your guide will take you on ferry ride to Ellis Island. Opened in 1892, Ellis Island was the entry point for European immigrants for more than sixty years. Twelve million passed through the halls that are now the Ellis Island Immigration Museum.
Walk through the Great Hall as the new Americans once did — ancestors of more than half of the U.S. population. Search for your family surname on the American Immigrant wall of Honor®, the longest wall of names in the world with over 600,000 names. Tour the American Family Immigration History Center®, with its many exhibits detailing the immigrant experience in the New York and the United States. Please note each group member is require to purchase a ferry ticket + one for the guide. The cost is $17.00 per adult and $12.00 per child. This will be added to your invoice
Meet me in “da” Bronx (five hours)
Known best for its illustrious reputation from the movie Ft. Apache: The Bronx and for the House that Ruth built (Yankee Stadium), the Bronx still surprises even native New Yorkers. It has beaches, a New England fishing village, a world famous zoo, botanical garden and countless historic sites. Over the years, it has been home to Tony Curtis, Anne Bancroft, Edgar Allen Poe, Colin Powell and Ralph Lauren, as well as the many different immigrant groups that have shaped the borough. The tour is four to five hours in length and is fully guided.
Brooklyn: The Real Cross Roads of the World (five hours)
Brooklyn: traditional and hip, city and suburb, historic and cutting edge, cultured and gritty. This borough in the county of Kings is full of contrasts. Brooklyn is a city unto itself (if it were to be a separate city, it would be one of the most populated in the USA and probably the most culturally diverse). It is also home to the famous Brooklyn Bridge, Coney Island, the original Nathan’s Hot Dog and Ralph Kramden. Come discover what so many New Yorkers already know: Brooklyn is the real crossroads of the world. The tour is four to five hours in length and is fully guided.
